Fourth week on the bounce
Posted: 12th August 2010
This week I’m at Conwy Golf Club for the S4C Wales Ladies Championship of Europe. I flew straight here from the AIB Ladies Irish Open and I am going back to Hamburg afterwards for a well-earned rest as it has been a busy few weeks.
The week of the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Birkdale was a hectic one as I had quite a few interviews to do, due to the fact that I am a member there. It was good fun though and great to meet up with some old faces. I was drawn with Paula Creamer and Catriona Matthew for the first two days which was great. The first day was a struggle as I was four-over par... MORE »
Exciting week ahead

The Ricoh Women’s British Open has arrived so I am in Southport this week! They have done the tee-times and I have been drawn with two of the best players in the tournament, Catriona Matthew who is the defending Champion and Paula Creamer who recently won the U.S. Women’s Open. I am so happy with the draw as I always think it is good to play with better players and you can learn a lot from them. The only thing is that I am out at 7.14am on Thursday so it will be an early start!
I had a great week last week in France for the Evian Masters and I made the cut which was a big achievement in such... MORE »

Two weeks ago I flew to Munich for a Pro-Am organised by one of my fellow professionals, Martina Eberl, who is about to go off on maternity leave. There were eight professionals whom she invited to play, it was one round followed by a dinner in the evening on the Friday night so I flew back to Hamburg on Saturday morning. It was good fun and we had a nice group of girls playing.
A week last Monday I met with two guys from Eurosport as they wanted to film me for a day or so for part of what is called ‘The Wednesday Selection’ on Eurosport which was on this week. We met at St Dionys for the interview on... MORE »
Back in Hamburg

I’m at home in Hamburg for the next two weeks which I’m pleased about having played three weeks on the trot. I’ve got lots of time to do some practising, see my friends and family and get lots of rest before the biggest two weeks of my year, The Evian Masters and The Ricoh Women’s British Open.
Last week I was in Tenerife playing in The Tenerife Ladies Open. I played well on the first day and shot one under par but the second day was completely different. I really struggled out there but I managed to finish birdie, eagle which meant I made the cut by a couple of shots. It was good to finish on a high as I... MORE »
Two contrasting weeks

Two weeks ago I played in the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open which was my first event since my maiden victory on The Ladies European Tour in Holland. Lots of people have asked me how I feel after my first win and I would say that I feel much more relaxed about playing as I now have a two-year exemption on The Ladies European Tour. However, I still want to improve and I hope to continue with my good season. A number of experienced players including Gwladys Nocera and Martina Eberl have told me that the first win is always the hardest so that has given me a lot of confidence.
The weather in Switzerland was pretty terrible. Even though they... MORE »
